Sarah's Celebrates 25 Years
Sarah's... an Oasis for Women celebrates 25 years
Sarah's was meant to be temporary. The Sisters welcomed women as their guests for a few months while they still lived in the convent. Housing for survivors of domestic violence in the 1990's was an unmet need, and as other shelters opened in the late 90's, Sarah's pivoted to serving women immigrants, another unmet need. While other shelters exist in the Twin Cities, none offer the array of services and safe haven that Sarah's provides. Today it has become a critical resource for immigrant women experiencing trauma to find hope and healing.
